Easter Sunday is almost here. Easter is a time for joy and celebration. It is a time when we celebrate the resurrection of our Savior. Jesus is alive! He is not dead! He is not in a tomb somewhere. He is alive! Easter Sunday is an opportunity for us to rejoice! I hope that even now you are looking forward to Easter Sunday.
Easter Sunday will be a unique day at FBC. We will have two identical services on Easter Sunday morning. They will be held at 9:00 am and 10:30 am. Our choir and orchestra will minister throughout both services. There will be no Sunday School on Easter Sunday.
We will have a nursery available during both services. Our nursery serves children who are under 36 months old. We also will have Junior Church available during both services. Our Junior Church serves children who are 3 years old through those in 2nd grade.
I would encourage you to arrive early. Parking is always somewhat complicated on Sunday mornings. My guess is that it will be even more of a challenge on Easter Sunday. Come early so that you have plenty of time to get settled before the service begins.
Personally, I am excitedly anticipating Easter. As the orchestra director, I get to see ‘behind the scenes’ and listen to the music that is being prepared. I am especially excited about the music that we are preparing for Easter. Our choir and orchestra will be combining on three songs. We are also planning some unique congregational music.
I hope that you will make plans to worship with us on Easter. Please feel free to contact us if you should have any questions pertaining to Easter Sunday.
Have a great Friday!
PS – I would like to add a short challenge to all of our FBC members. Would you consider serving in one of our children’s ministries on Easter Sunday? Many of our Nursery and Junior Church workers are occupied with Choir & Orchestra on Easter. I challenge you to consider worshiping at one of our Easter services and then serving during the other service. Let me know if you are willing to do this.
