Over 2.3 million kids in more than 100 countries are reached by Awana every week. Awana has been around for more than 60 years and we’ve had it at Faith Baptist for more than 25 years! I had the privilege of growing up in Awana from Cubbies (preschool) through T&T (6th grade) and am excited for the opportunity to serve as Awana Commander. Training kids to know, love and serve God is the goal of Awana. The club night is divided into three distinct activities. Handbook Time promotes Scripture memorization, Large Group Time is for a lesson from the Word of God and Game Time is always a blast with specially themed nights.

Wednesday, September 3 is the first club night for this year. We will meet on Wednesdays from 6:30-8:15p in the Education Building. Awana is for kids 2 years old through those who have begun 6th grade this school year. Our Awana Open House will be Thursday, August 28 from 6:30-8p in the Fellowship Hall. Parents, you can register your children and purchase books and uniforms.

Do you have a heart for children and a desire to serve God in Children’s Ministries at Faith Baptist? Leaders are the backbone of Awana. From helping with Scripture memorization to running around the Game Time circle, there is a job for everyone. If you’d like to serve or get more information, there will be an Awana Leaders’ Meeting in FLC Room 17a on Wednesday, August 27 at 6:30p.

Have a fantastic weekend!

Josh Brown

PS – Upward Basketball and Cheerleading Evaluations are next week in the FLC Gym from 5-7p on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday. If you come to the Thursday Evaluation (same night as the Awana Open House), you could take care of all of your fall registrations in one night!
