Secret Church 2016 will take place Friday, April 29 from 6:30pm to 12:30am in the Chapel at Faith Baptist.

Q: What is Secret Church?

A: A time of intensive Biblical discipleship training

David Platt:  “Imagine being in small room, in a secret location, it’s packed with brothers & sisters who have gathered together at the risk of their lives. One little light bulb hanging in the middle. They’ve got their Bibles open to study The Word…knowing if they are caught doing this…they could lose land, they could lose property, possessions, they could be imprisoned…and eventually they could lose their livesBut they believe this Word is worth it. They want to know God and they want to be a part of the mission of God and the community of God…even though they know it is costly.

This is the scene in which Secret Church was born. I came back from settings like that into the setting where…by God’s grace we have the opportunity to worship freely, to study His Word freely. But I wonder, do we love The Word like this? Do we want to know The Word like this?

So, we set aside a night, called it Secret Church, where we said we’re going to dive into the study of God’s Word in depth and at the same time we’re going to pray for our persecuted brothers and sisters around the world and we’re going to pray for ourselves that God would give us the kind of boldness that He’s giving them.

We’re going to spend intensive time studying His Word and in the process, were going to fall on our faces, we’re going to pray for our persecuted brothers and sisters around the world that we need to pray for and we’re going to pray for ourselves that God would give us grace and boldness to join with them in making this Word known around the world no matter what it costs us.”

Q: What is the purpose of Secret Church?

A: Discipleship, and thereby equipping us to go and make disciples

David Platt: To know the Word of God, to pray for the spread of the Gospel around the world alongside our persecuted brothers and sisters and pray that as a result of Secret Church, we would be compelled to give our lives to knowing (Jesus) and making Him known-no matter what it costs us.”

Q: What will we be studying in Secret Church this year?

A: A GLOBAL GOSPEL IN A WORLD OF RELIGIONS: “As disciples of Christ, we need to be equipped to make the truth, and the beauty, and the grace of Christ known in a world where many different religions exist. We are going to look at the truth of The Gospel next to the major claims and tenets of major religions to then know how to build bridges to share with the nations the Gospel of Jesus Christ.”

Due to the nature of the content, this simulcast is limited to those 18 & up unless accompanied by a parent.

The Prayer Focus during Secret Church this year is: India!

Q: What does it cost?

A: $7 to cover licensing fee

Q: What should I bring?

A: Snacks and beverages to share, a pen to fill in the blanks, and a more comfy chair, blanket, etc, if you’d like.

Q: How do I sign-up?  When is the deadline?
