10 Reminders for 2015 from Pastor Osborne
God has given us a great assignment. As believers in Christ, our mission is to go everywhere and tell people the gospel of Christ, baptize those who are saved in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit and disciple those who have been saved and baptized.
So in 2015 let us:
- Be consistently faithful in the tasks God has given us to do
- Be disciplined and organized in order to fulfill our responsibilities
- Always be consumed with the glory of God
- Be committed to praying big prayers everyday
- Be content to serve the Lord where we are, and when He decides, He will move us
- Be reminded of and talk about the faithfulness of God demonstrated in and through our lives
- Be comfortable with the way God made us and develop the gifts God gave us by using them to encourage others
- Be confident in the Lord and He will give us strength to face everyday struggles
- Be passionate, assertive, and determined when it is time to act.
- Be absolutely certain that God is able to give us His solutions and victories in the everyday battles of life, whether large or small.
This year, may God hear loud and clear from us our sacrifice of praise no matter what!
I love you all,

Over 2.3 Million Kids Are Reached Weekly
Over 2.3 million kids in more than 100 countries are reached by Awana every week. Awana has been around for more than 60 years and we’ve had it at Faith Baptist for more than 25 years! I had the privilege of growing up in Awana from Cubbies (preschool) through T&T (6th grade) and am excited for the opportunity to serve as Awana Commander. Training kids to know, love and serve God is the goal of Awana. The club night is divided into three distinct activities. Handbook Time promotes Scripture memorization, Large Group Time is for a lesson from the Word of God and Game Time is always a blast with specially themed nights.
Wednesday, September 3 is the first club night for this year. We will meet on Wednesdays from 6:30-8:15p in the Education Building. Awana is for kids 2 years old through those who have begun 6th grade this school year. Our Awana Open House will be Thursday, August 28 from 6:30-8p in the Fellowship Hall. Parents, you can register your children and purchase books and uniforms.
Do you have a heart for children and a desire to serve God in Children’s Ministries at Faith Baptist? Leaders are the backbone of Awana. From helping with Scripture memorization to running around the Game Time circle, there is a job for everyone. If you’d like to serve or get more information, there will be an Awana Leaders’ Meeting in FLC Room 17a on Wednesday, August 27 at 6:30p.
Have a fantastic weekend!
PS – Upward Basketball and Cheerleading Evaluations are next week in the FLC Gym from 5-7p on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday. If you come to the Thursday Evaluation (same night as the Awana Open House), you could take care of all of your fall registrations in one night!
Music Camp 2014 – The Agape League
Summer is well underway at Faith Baptist. VBS has come and gone, the France and South Africa Mission Trip teams will be leaving early next week, and Music Camp is just over a month away!
As I grew up, one of my favorite summer activities was Music Camp. I couldn’t wait to find out what musical we would be perfecting in just a week’s time. Music Camp is still one of my favorite weeks of the summer. It’s always so much fun to see what can be accomplished in just a week when all of the children and volunteers come together to use their talents for our Lord.
This year children who have completed 1st-6th grade can join us August 4-8 for “The Agape League – A Superhero Adventure about the Fruit of the Spirit.” High in the mountains in the impenetrable Agape Fortress, General Agape has called the mighty Agape League together to solve a crisis in Suburbiana City!
Here are just a few more details about the week:
- Mon-Thu | 9a-noon
- Fri | 9a-2:30p
- Cost: $20/child; $10/each additional sibling
The performance will be Sun, Aug 10 at 6p in the Sanctuary.

Have a great weekend.
